Re: [newtech-1] Subversion hosting

We use wush.net for svn & bugzilla in a large, globally distributed development effort.  wush support, the one time we needed it for an unusual request related to bugzilla, went far above and beyond in responding to our request and did so within a couple hours even though the request was made with a medium priority during off-hours.  wush.net has the same restriction on permissions/privileges: no granularity.

With non-US hosting providers and others with more professional looking websites, we have had problem getting timely support.

Can anyone recommend a company that hosts subversion. We are doing Mac development and want to use subversion but don't want to maintain our own server. Thanks in advance!

Dreamhost.com has a subversion service now.

plus - mod_svn access , rely on their backups and raiding, cheap, tons of space
    minus - you can't do fine-grained svn privs -- its per-repository permissions ( not per-path or other schema )

The big factor on all of the systems i've seen is how they implement permissions.

Depending on your needs, you may not need fine-grained access... or can 'fake' it by using multiple repositories each with their own permissions db
