No I’m glad someone else said it apart from me.
But I think it has to be said that for whatever reason last Mondays event fell over both in the caliber of the people presenting and the panel discussion afterwards.
I should have left sooner once I realized the first presenter had no idea what an “xmpp api” was and had to refer to his ‘technical person’ who was sitting in the crowd. It wasn’t until later I realized that it wasn’t that the guy couldn’t hear me but he had no idea what I was saying.
On the other hand seeing the event is run by volunteers does anyone have any thoughts on how we can improve the event? I’m thinking that RSVP’s for attendance can only be made after you pass a 3 question multiple choice quiz that proves you have some knowledge about the topic.
One of my own personal choices I’ve been making over the last 6 months is attending the smaller style ‘tech events’ with less than 30 people rather than the wiz bang large scale Newtech style events as I’m finding it more conducive to actually learning something new.
