If they're significantly cheaper than the Samsung 830 that folks are
recommending (with good reason), an alternative could be the Crucial M4
series. They've gotten below $150 for the 256GB from time to time. They
are just ridiculously stable drives, but they're not as fast as the Sammies.
As for TRIM? It isn't as important as folks make it out to be - all SSDs
have some "garbage collection" built into their firmware. So the more
recent the SSD, the less important that TRIM is.
But if you can enable it, why not?
