PCWorld has a very detail comparison of eight banks for tech startup.

It seems Capital One is the few banks that does not charge a fee for SMB account. Also, they currently have a $300 bonus promotion if you also open a saving account before 12/31.

Just negotiate with the banks on fees.  We are with Chase and told them we would go somewhere else if they charged us fees, so they dropped them.

I used Chase as they allowed us to combine business, personal and 401k balances to reach some sort of "silver" status (can't remember what they called it) which gets us free checking, etc.

The branch over in the East Village (think it was 4th Ave and 9th Street) was real accommodating in setting everything up.

Morning All,

Would anyone consult me where to open the account for small business? I have been looking around but it seems every bank now has a small fee to open or monthly (maintenance) fee. Is it better to go with big banks or small bank?

Cheers
