Lol or fire up the “image recognition app” that the marketing director thinks is the latest and greatest but hey its not as cool to slam them…..
When people ask me why QR codes aren’t as pervasive as url’s (when was the last time you typed a raw ip address out?) I explain its because marketing/advertising people are stupid and xenophobic.
Plain and simple.
The reason QR codes work so well in Japan is that they don’t have the not invented here attitude and don’t mind collaborating across telco companies to agree on a common standard.

Did you happen to ask this same panel whether or not they use Shazam or Soundhound or Zeebox though? I believe it takes the same amount of effort to use a QR code as it does to use any of those apps, no?
