BS. A webview pulling in what would normally be the contents of an IFrame, I would think, should work just fine. The only question is whether or not there's a JS engine to execute within the webview, but I'm sure someone has crossed that hurdle already.

Klaus,

agree I would think it was trivial as well however here is the invocation code I provided

The developer replied saying he was having problems getting it to display……

[3:15:21 PM] Developer: there's a problem with that, i've been searching for an hour for a way to handle it but i don't think we'd be able to integrate the OpenX advertisment zone with the given way

[3:13:38 PM] Dean Collins: i can do a javascript invocation as well if that would make it easier instead of iframe

[3:15:17 PM] Developer: yeah both these ways would work best in a web page

[3:15:31 PM] Developer: but they wouldn't work with a desktop app, specially a cross browser one

I’ve tried googling to understand why it wasn’t working but cant find any clear explanation of what this issue is so was hoping to hire someone for 30 mins/1 hour who understood how to display openx banner ads inside an application.

Dean Collins

Dean,

Why wouldn't the java application either load the iFrame and merge it with its output or add the javascript to the header or footer? Either way, it strikes me as trivial to solve. Not sure what "local mode" means.

Hi guys, I have a problem in that a developer is building me a Java based application. I want the application to display banner ads from my OpenX server.

The openX server can only display

javascript

iframe

local mode

invocation codes but the developer is saying this wont work. Has anyone created an app where they used openX to serve up banners and do you know how this was done?

Cheers,

Dean
