Re: [newtech-1] Is Top Nav going away?

i have a feeling it has to do with mobile.

a vertical stack uses the best dimension of a portrait display , and many of these interfaces ( like the facebook and twitter native iOS apps ) will cover the nav with the content. new myspace slides left also.

The new YouTube and the both have done away with top navigation and are opting for left hand nav menus. Facebook and Twitter still have top nav menus. SoundCloud is trying to do away with the top nav as well.

What gives? Any information designers out there want to comment?

Is this so that all sites are more tablet friendly, putting the content in the center with left right sidebars?
