I'm setting up a laptop (osx) for my nieces, and I'd like to get them interested in programming. When I was a kid I learned Logo, and Basic, and really enjoyed writing small programs on our Apple IIe.
Does anyone have any suggestions for kid friendly programming out there these days? My nieces are 8 and 5. I think the 5 year old is a bit too young to get started, but I think 8 is old enough to get started.
