Re: [newtech-1] Protocol for job posts

There is only one side of this coin.

Why did we create a jobs board? So we don't have to create filters in hopes that recruiters follow protocol. If you use logic, the same people that refuse to use the job board will refuse to tag their subject lines in order to circumvent the filters.

It's unsavory and I don't know how anyone who values this list could argue otherwise.

Look at how he opened his email, he was fully aware it was a dick move.

I get the point of the post........ but the horse has risen this morning and we are promptly beating it.  If a post is titled right you should know what to avoid.  75% of emails do not pertain to me, and amazingly enough I know how to delete those emails.  I am an IT recruiter with 12 years support background. So I see both sides of the coin.  And yes I work for an agency.   Yes I am the devil now......

Put this in the FWIW column, but I’ve gotten more private responses interested in my posting than negative responses by the vocal minority here.

I think after all the curmudgeonliness in all the postings, a LOT of people know where to go.

This is a perfect solution to cross promote and educate. Hopefully it will help recruiters and seekers alike.

I think that the jobs should be on the jobs board. Perhaps we can add a line to the footer like:

"Looking for a job? Posting a job? Check The NY Tech Meetup Jobs Board"

so people know where to go.
