Re: [newtech-1] Consumer Pain

Hi Sai,

Thanks for your input - what you provided is perfect. Deciding between multiple viable options is seconded (or thirded, but list-echo must be noted :)

Regarding haggling over a car - did you know there are alternatives? Well, there was Saturn which I suppose is no more - but no-haggle was their thing. There are other alternatives I'm sure you can google for too, to better protect yourself, or even eliminate haggling altogether.

Best,
PJ

I think my biggest pain as a consumer is to decide between different options in front of me. This is especially in cases when more than one option seems viable.

Another pain point is to have to negotiate/haggle over say a car (as I currently find myself having to do.)

Are you looking for something more specific? E.g., I really wish buying good business casual clothing was easier to buy via the Internet.

Hey again Mike -

Rethinking your email I realize there was a double-interpretation of what I was asking. I wasn't asking about what people pay for to reduce their pain. I was asking what pain consumers have in the consumer (consumption?) process, and defining the consumption process as spending money in exchange for something.

e.g. I hate that I will literally waste 3 hours searching for that perfect movie out of the 2000 options I have with cable, premium channels, netflix, amazon prime, etc.

Thanks for the insight and opportunity to clarify!

Best,
PJ

Hi Mike,

Not focusing on revenue just yet - I'm interested in the pain first. Give me your pain!

Isn't the general rule that consumers don't pay to reduce their pain like businesses will?  That's why all those social networks try to get huge.   Get big and worry about profitability later.  It's funny to watch people to complain that their free, or $2, app doesn't give them more.

I'd be careful to verify that consumers will actually pay.

Thanks, Alyssa - so, what pains you as a consumer? :)

Great question, PJ. Innovation often starts with this inquiry.

Hey Newtechies,

Please indulge me in participating in my one-question research study :)

Q: As a consumer, what are your biggest pain points? (This could be about anything you pay money for - movies, groceries, vehicles, electronics, food, appliances,  vacation packages, etc.)

Thanks,
PJ

P.S. If you're an entrepreneurial techie who wants to do good for consumers, contact me!
