You have got that backwards.

The PROBLEM is that there are too many 'programmers' and 'coders'
who will work for peanuts, thus weakening the labor and opportunity pool.

And with this nonsense that 'anyone can learn to code' the ongoing erosion
of perception of the value of engineering continues.

This same shit is what has been dominating US business for years.
It started with dot-com nonsense. And it continues today.

Somewhere, some putz started disseminating the notion that 'all you have to
do is have a [great|passionate|disruptive|
insert-bs-poseur-nonsense-adjective-here] idea and you can change the world.

What did the Twitter financiers say? We asked for flying cars and got 140
characters.....

Golden days for tech biz, huh?
