Both emails pose good questions/make a point.
"Make sure the business is moving forward while I am not in the office." -- surely a tall order for an intern.
I meant a self starter...somebody who can work on their own even if the boss isn't there. The work would be assigned in advance.
Convert notes into actionable tasks for team members (Take notes during meetings, afterwards the CEO will review with you)
Contribute in design meetings, strategy sessions, Job interviews etc. (This means you will be involved in all aspects of the business and your opinion will be valued, but it is really in the context of supporting the CEO)
"...you need a chief of staff, not an intern"
At this point there is no staff, and this person would not be expected to "manage" anybody except the CEO. Perhaps this role could
evolve into a Chief of Staff or some other position. Perhaps intern isn't the correct term.
I am looking for somebody who is willing to learn and has some basic skills...writing, organization and an understanding of the Internet & social media.
