Cynthia covered it pretty well. My recommendation would be to find someone who has done it before and either hire them or offer them equity. What you're asking for is more technical than just getting PR. You're trying to make your business into a viable payable business model. You need marketing, product launch, and strategic skills. You need to think and plan out 1-3 years in advance as to costs and revenue needed, etc...

We are a bunch of tech guys working on a platform (publictrades.com ) that allows its users to buy and sell products and services in real time by way of "haggling". We spent countless days and hours working on this platform and now that it is ready to launch we have little or no idea on how to attract reporters, bloggers, and any media outlet to set us up with interviews and ask questions about our plans for this service. Thanks to SEO we are 15,000 members strong and growing, but with pointers in the right direction we can double up on membership in no time. Can anyone (preferably people that has overcome similar problems / experiences) give us advice on how to go around this problem?
