RE: [newtech-1] PR guidance/recommendations.

Sure, no problem. To opinionate on your first point – I think that a simple goal / checklist is to try and answer as many questions as possible. Leaving Miles and subsequently yourself with questions (for each other) is not the way you want this to go in today’s environment. I always prefer for my customers to have the answers they need whereby they are educating me on how they could use my services. That keeps me informed on market shortcomings / opportunities. Second to that, you cant overwhelm them so prioritize that list of questions to answer and I think you end up with Miles recommendation – whats this all about / whats in it for me?

Regards.

Great Ben... thanks for that.. Maybe its a matter of making it more 'in-your-face' with regards to the service and the "Whats in it for me" for whoever is visiting the site. I figured the fact that people can virtually walk through the door of a business while doing simple searches on google and on maps and taking a virtual tour of the place would make sense as a benefit to a business owner since it can make or break the consumers decision to buy. I'll talk to our web designer and see if they can make that a lot clearer when first visiting the page.

Alex.. thanks for that! i edited it the sig line. It was showing the right domain in the settings but redirecting to the wrong site in an actual email. Appreciate the heads up!

I agree with Miles. I am kind of interested, even in just a general sense – but there is no real “hook”.

Also, consider that your email signature has a link to properti.es (and not virtualproperti.es). You may be losing some clicks on that alone.

Jimmy,

Where is the win? Show me success, I don't want to be first.

Too much to read without a reason.

Thanks DA and Bob. The articles are interesting.

Miles: Is the message (value of what I do) not coming across in the website and content or is it that you personally don't see value in it? I understand that on-going marketing in combination with communication (ie PR) is important. I just want to make sure I am starting on the right foot rather than waste time doing it wrong from the onset.

Could anyone on the list recommend a good PR person/firm working in the tech field. We have been working with a PR firm over the past few months to help get media attention and all they have been able to deliver is 3 mentions on small, obscure blogs.

Maybe a followup question should be, should a small biz like ours invest in PR to get brand awareness? Should that be a PR person/firm or a service like Vocus where we can compose our own Press Releases and distribute them over their PRWeb platform?

Any guidance/recommendations appreciated!
