RE: [newtech-1] polling an app idea

Phillip,  Check out Go-Go inflight wifi next time you are on a plane. Makes the trip way more productive.

David, yeh I agree…not sure about the density – but yes seat to seat gaming / interaction is something I’ve wondered why airlines don’t promote more of.

Ross, I’m very comfortable taking on Twitter. I’ve thought long and hard about this issue and take solace in the words of Michael Eisner about attacking your enemy’s achilles in a method which they cant attack you from without changing themselves substantially. Twitter cant take on LiveFanChat and that’s why our various sports chat apps work better than twitter hashtags ever can.

Okay - misstated, but my heart was in the right place: you're supposed to have wireless connections off, i.e. no Internet, i.e. no airplane chat. Am I missing something?

Granted, there are some airlines who are now providing wifi. Haven't flown on one of these yet (thankfully, I don't fly that much). But I also know some who had in the past, do not any more, so I can't tell whether that's coming or going.

Huh….. I fire my laptop up the minute we level off until the battery dies out.

What airline carriers are you flying on?

Uh, kinda thinkin the plane chat thing is DOA due to FAA policy against operating electronics on airplanes. And it's hard to cheat because the flying waitresses are such Nazis.

No experience with buses.

I’d like feedback from the hive, do you think there is value in an app like www.LivePlaneChat.com eg would you want to chat with people on your plane/train/bus and have an online experience between passengers or do you think there wouldn’t be enough people online to warrant it?

I’m concerned that possibly there wont be enough people on a plane but on a Wash-NYC Bolt bus with their on board wifi there would be plenty.

So before I spend the time to build it etc….what are your thoughts?

Cheers,

Dean
