Is anyone interested and have the chops to create a small business financial website for a friend of mine? The following are the specs of what he wants – email/twitter/IM me if you or anyone you know is interested, and I’ll connect you to the man behind the plan. Thanks!
I want a website that is interactive. I would like visitors to leave the site feeling like they are better informed than before. So I want to place an emphasis on presenting information in a clean, clear, concise manner. The site should be easily navigable and use tones, tabs, etc. that minimize or eliminate a busy feeling. Most people are somewhat intimidated and anxious about this kind of information to begin with so we want to help take that feeling away.
Following are the various sections that need to be incorporated. I don't have ANY technological background, so if I miss something, or if I'm redundant or inefficient in any way, please let me know.
Introduction - This section should give basic information about the company, its history, products and services, and affiliations
Homepage or general info page - The following information needs to be presented in a user friendly manner and may require more than one page; Dow Jones, S&P500, and NASDAQ quotes and charts, Performance of Top 5 or 10 positions, A summary of the current investment highlight (a paragraph or two about the stock, bond, mutual fund, and/or structured trade currently highlighted for investment which will be changed no more frequently than once per week), brochure library, forms library (all the forms needed to open new accounts and maintain existing accounts - forms should be fillable online and submitted easily through the site)
Account information - I would like clients to have the ability to link to their account information and all the resources provided by Fidelity. Fidelity allows this (and helps with some of the other requirements I have like the fillable and submittable forms, delayed quotes and charts, and some other components of the site) and has a way for the client to stay, or appear to stay, within my website while navigating through Fidelity to get the information they want or need
Contact us - this section should include the traditional info on how to contact us, phone, fax, email. I would also like to include a live chat option that can be activated at certain times. I do not have the human resources to have it available 24/7 but I would be interested in allowing the opportunity to have a live chat at certain times during the trading day (primarily between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.), as well as before and/or after the trading day.
