Good point, Tony.  We were also using it for a recurring subscription model where it work wonderfully but that model has different cash management dynamics than discrete product or services.  Depending on company maturity/reserves the turnaround of a Paypal model would be better suited for the latter case.

The only thing I don't like about Stripe is how long it takes them to transfer the funds to your bank. I use it and it can take 3 to 4 days, where PayPal transactions are immediate and you can use your PayPal Mastercard if you need the money at that moment or if you need to transfer that money to a developer. With Stripe, the only method is receiving payment then transferring to the bank. You don't have the other two options. Or, at least I think you don't, unless I'm wrong.

Today I was implementing a recurring subscription for a product I'm going to release locally in New York City. I already have two clients interested in using it; not big money just around $200/month for each.

Initially I was looking at Chargify, but the price and what it offered was more than I needed. I remember when Stripe first came out and I didn't think nothing of it. Today was really my first experience with their platform and the API.

It's the type of product that makes you want to build systems you can charge for since accepting payments isn't only easy, but fun. A simple API with client libraries in different languages. I really don't know why I haven't looked at them in a while.

Enjoy or troll this e-mail ;) Either way have a blast.
