I used Ted Weisz, by doing much of the  work, Ted turned it into patent speak, first round $5,000. Now that the patent office is talking to us there are additional fees but I got it filed for $5,000 including fees.

Hi everybody. My team and I are looking to patent an invention, but based on the conversations we've had with lawyers, the price tag is significant -- i.e. in the range of $15,000 to $20,000. Does anyone know of a way to cut some cost out of the process?

Are there competent lawyers that do this kind of work for less money or (if we handle the bulk of the writing ourselves) provide a cursory review at a substantial discount? Are there government grants / programs for inventors or start-ups that we can leverage? Is it feasible for us to write and submit the patent application without outside help?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks, and have a great week.

Ben
