Re: [newtech-1] Address book APIs

Yaakov,
Can the plaxo widget be used for an "invite friends to my community" feature?  It looks like Plaxo keeps the data in which case it's pretty useless for what it seems Hank wants (like Facebook and Linkedin).  We're planning to build a custom app for such a feature, but if plaxo allows companies to send invites after address book imports this would be a perfect solution.  Please clarify.
Thanks,
Steve

Plaxo has an Address Book widget that does exactly this (it can be
integrated into your site with a little bit of JavaScript). It has imports
for Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail, AOL, Thunderbird.

See the full details at http://www.plaxo.com/api

I've personally used the widget before on a site and have been very
satisfied with the usability and stability of the widget.

The only downside is that they get to "market" their Plaxo brand & services,
but that's a small price to pay for a widget of this functionality.

Yaakov Sash
