Become a superior programmer in any language

Abstract

Programming work is essentially unsupervisable. Your employer can't force you to be a good programmer and often times isn't even in a position to judge whether you're good. Once you decide to make yourself a superior programmer, the potential for improvement is huge. Thus, character is the more decisive factor in the makeup of a superior programmer. Rather than provide programming tips we will explore how five aspects of your personal character directly affects your ability to write computer programs. We will also explore some that may not be as important as you think.

Meet, socialize and network tonight with Alex, Yitzchok, Steve, Ben and many others at the meetup. It is one of the most popular tech events in NYC today!

We built an easy-to browse/search page for/with all attendees: http://bit.ly/XbycIO

    Happy networking!

If we show up while on the waiting list will we be allowed in, how will this be handled, is there some way we'll be notified?

    February 27

    • Steve Bohlen

If you're moved off the waitlist you will receive an email automatically from meetup.com; unfortunately however anyone not moved off the waitlist 48 hours prior to the meeting cannot be moved off it after that b/c we are required to submit the complete attendance list to the building security a min. of 48 hrs prior to the event.

Unfortunately going to be out of town; is there any way this could be video recorded?

    • Alex Hung

Barring any last minute issue, I should be there to record on video and then be available on our group's Vimeo channel.
