Halloween Harriman Hike (the original date!) 2013

Note: This is the original date - November 2nd - and is in addition to Francisco's Halloween hike.

We do this hike every year. It is so much fun. We do a little 8 mile baby hike from Tuxedo to Skenonto and back in costume.

Who can come?

People with hiking experience. Please no newbies. This is not a hard hike but we want to be able to joke around and have fun just hiking not worrying that someone might get lost or twist their ankle.

Equipment:

You must be dressed up in costume to come. Hiker is not a costume!!!!! If I don't see a costume in the parking lot you don't get to come hiking with us.  Water and snacks are highly encouraged, as are cameras.  There will be a prize for best costume, as voted on by the group!

How do you get there:

You can either ask for a ride or take the 9:14 train from Penn Station to Tuxedo. You will have to transfer at Secaucus. The train arrives at 10:17 in Tuxedo.

Arrange the rides by posting that you are driving or need a ride on the comment section. Once you see someone offering a ride email them personally to arrange a ride.

Each year has been an adventure. Last year we had a Hurricane before the hike which changed our plans including mine, i.e. Francisco. I couldn't get back until the morning of Saturday from Denver, and there were fuel shortages and roads closings and no power in some parts of the city. Also the train tracks were partly destroyed last year. The year before, 2011, we had an epic snowstorm in Harriman with branches and trees falling all over the place. What will happen this year?
