To all those participating in the Great Range Traverse, it will be happening on Sunday. Please be prepared to wake up at 4:30am as we should try to start by 6/6:30. Unless there is some way we can make it a loop, we will have to shuttle cars before hand. We will be hiking for many hours, so please bring A LOT of water and a headlamp. And of course be sure to have both microspikes and snowshoes. Lastly, get ready for a day of pure awesomeness.

Back to doing the Camp Santanoni trip on Sunday...have to be in the office Monday. Anybody want to ride down with me? It's an easy ski or snow shoe but an interesting historical site; http://www.dec.ny.gov/lands/530.... Send an email if interested.
What's happening Saturday besides the Great Range? Been there, done that, and SUFFERED. But we came out via the Loj which means doing Colden and Algonquin also so maybe if you go back after Marcy you will survive. If you are as stiff and tired as I was you can come with us to Camp Santanoni!

Great Range is an all-day marathon in summer. You can start either at the Garden in Keene and finish at the ADK Loj in Lake Placid or the opposite. I did it when I was twenty something and had been doing 15 mile runs on a regular basis. We ran any trails that were not so steep that you needed to hold on with your hands. We jogged out to the ADK Loj in the dark with head lamps. I was totally exhausted and could hardly walk for a week. Really want to do that on snow shoes?
Garden-Rooster comb is not the Great Range guys. It's Garden-Rooster comb.
