In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, rising sea levels and sustainable waterfronts have never been more relevant topics for designers. Join us for a presentation and conversation with Michael Manfredi, co-founder of Weiss/Manfredi, who will discuss how his firm is addressing these issues in their work.
Expected a more in-depth presentation instead of a very fast list of projects. Much of what was offered can be viewed on the company website. More technical information with discussion would have been much more valuable. The crowd is very young. Questions were not abundant, perhaps, again because the lecture might have skimmed the surface of the topic too much. Would hope to hear the lecturer again with a much more technical take on what he obviously has been able to implement so well.

I hate to cancel, but I must pick up my kitty from the vet & stay with her post surgery. I'm hoping to eventually make it to my first meet up! I enjoy following all the talent!!!

Unfortunate schedule conflict with The New School presentation by a Stanford professor, "Wind, Water, Sunlight", re economics of adjusting to global warming. Already intended to correspond with AIA re concrete architecture - will drop a note to member of the Design for Recovery and Reconstruction Committee commenting here.

Looking forward to this event as Mike is considered one of the best award winning architects of our day.
