Spring is closer than you think. The bees will be hungry soon. So why not spend an afternoon tasting honey in sympathy? Gerry and Lauren are hosting a honey tasting in Park Slope on Sunday, February 3rd at 1pm. There will be honey from sources local, regional, and international. B.Y.O.H. -- bring your own honey, or the good stuff from your favorite supplier, to share. Let's try to get a big variety of flowers, flavors, and places represented. Also: Gerry will tell us about top-bar hive beekeeping and John will have a short beekeeping DVD or two to present; a schedule for feeding the spring hives will be drawn up.

It was very nice, I enjoyed it, and met some nice people. I hope to be involved more with this group, as time allows. I am curious to visit the rooftop hives.
