I am an elementary science teacher at P.S. 58 in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn. Our school is located next to Carroll Park. We have a lovely scholar's garden on the 1st place side of our building between Court and Smith Street.
I would love to plant some wildflower seeds that are bee friendly so that I can share this process with my students.
My school address and contact information is listed below:

Also, if anyone in the group is interested in doing a presentation or sharing beekeeping with my students in grades 3, 4, or 5 before the end of the school year, please feel free to contact me:
Thanks so much!

Is anyone interested in the offer below, getting free wildflower seeds from the Haagen Dazs company to attract honey bees?
If so, I will coordinate this, so let me know and I will take orders and forward to Daniel who can send them to me where you can pick them up.
This is what he wrote:
My name is Daniel and I work for PR agency here in the city. I came across your beekeeping website and meetup group and wanted to see if you'd be interested in a project we're working on for Haagen-Dazs. Basically we're trying to distribute and grow 1 million honeybee-friendly wildflower seeds.
Since Haagen-Dazs is dependant on honeybee pollination (about 1/3 of Haagen-Dazs ice cream flavors depend on pollinated ingredients), they're trying to raise awareness for the honeybee population and CCD. They've already began funding for honeybee/CCD research, and we're now trying to help people grow additional food sources for honeybees.
That being said, I have TONS of wildflower seed packets that I can send to anyone for free. Each of the packets has about 50 seeds, and I have plenty to give away:
I thought that since you are an avid beekeeper, perhaps you and your meetup group could put them to good use. I can give you pretty much any amount of flower seeds that you'd like!
If you're interested, the only thing I'd need in return is that you let me know what you'd like to do with the seeds, and that you somehow chronicle your experience (through video, pictures, blog posts, or even simple letters/e-mails). Also, Haagen-Dazs is open to hearing any ideas you may have for raising honeybee awareness that may require extra resources.
Thanks for your time, and feel free to e-mail me or call with any questions or comments.
Hope to hear from you soon.
