I'm a new member, registered & riding the 5boro ride Sunday. Haven't done it in the past and the info pack they sent with the bib states that it is "a critical layer" and must be worn during the entire route. I've been told that they have people along the ride to evict those with no bib but not sure about it. With 32k people I hope there's not many extras otherwise those 42 miles will take all day!?
On a side note I rode the Mumbai Cyclothon recently which had many rogue riders who caused problems and actually caused my friend to go down. But that's another story..... perhaps for a beer stop in the future.
Thanks for organizing this group Garrett. I appreciate your efforts which outshine my other groups.

unrelated, but since it's message the whole group day, wanted to ask if anyone is doing the 5 boro bike tour, and if anyone has done it before without a bib and how successful that was for them?? it sold out too fast for me, but i've heard that with 30K riders, no one is super picky about the bibs and stuff.
and if anyone else is doing it, we could perhaps have a mini-meetup?

My apologies, I missed including the age in my response. ?I do believe
that a bell or horn and working brakes, however, are required,
regardless of age.
