P.S. Rider #s, No-shows and waiting lists

About # of riders per event: Some people have asked me why the rides are capped to 20 (sometimes up to 25). I feel 20 is more or less the maximum number I feel comfortable for a group ride considering manageability and safety. We are not doing critical mass-style rides, but obeying traffic rules and being considerate to pedestrians and automobile drivers, while making sure everyone gets to the destinations and back. Not to mention, we don't want to mob a food establishment. 20 is actually even a little too big; 12-15 is ideal.

About No-shows and waiting lists: priority will always be given to people who have honored their RSVPs and shown respect to other members of this group. If you are a consistent No Show (RSVP Yes, possibly take away someone else's chance to participate, then not show up without any communication prior, during or after), you are a flake. Once, understandable. Twice or more in a row, not so good. For any event for which there is a waiting list, people who have been flakes more than twice in a row prior to that event will be bumped to the waiting list, and a person on the waiting list who has honored their RSVPs more consistently will be manually moved to Yes list. I don't appreciate flakes and whiners, because it cuts into everyone's fun factor, and isn't that what we are all about? Thanks for understanding. Let's ride! And eat!
