I had a blast! I performed a song I wrote 3 yrs ago and the crowd seem to like it. Everyone was welcoming and polite. It's nice to be around fellow guitarists!

Thanks DeJuan! Was always curious about how it would sound if it was professionally recorded. And like I said the sound engineer made it sound really sweet.

All the guys at Flux Studio on Ave A were all really nice and walked me through everything step by step. Had a blast!

I could bring my guitar but I have doubts since i'm not really a great player and have to look at sheet music as I play. I'd rather sing and have someone else play. I'm into classic rock and pop. I always loved the Beatles.

I'll ask around: see if anyone wants to check out some live music. Thinking about doing an old Neil Young tune. Something off Four Way Street.

    April 28, 2013

Big news. Turn The Page will be performed at the Ella Lounge in two weeks. The song I'm doing for next Saturday is one of my all time favorites: Whiskey In The Jar by Metallica

They provide mikes and an amp and sometimes I'll borrow a guitar but of course I'd rather play my own. Nothing like your own guitar.

Go in and put your name on the list and when your name is called...go up there and let it rip.

    1 · April 26, 2013

    • Arthur S.

Well I know, of course everybody gets a little jumpy...you know it's performing a song and we all want it to go well but sometimes you have to put things in perspective.....like is it a hard song, an easy song, a cover, an original....all these things factor. But in the end I just wind up saying...lets give it a go and see what I can do with it. Ya know. Maybe it won't be just like I practiced but that's ok. Maybe it'll be better.

Everybody is new at some point. The more you do it the easier it gets. Personally I know if I'm real polished with my song, it helps me relaxed, cause I'm like. I Got This.

    April 26, 2013

  • Mel

Im completely new to this.. So we go there and randomly jam out in front a crowd or just in front of this meetup crew? Do we need to bring our equipment or is there electric guitars and amps already available at the set location?

    April 24, 2013

    • Daniel B.

There's an old saying in show business. Do you get butterflies in your stomach? I used to be like that when I was performing back in February. My advice is to stay calm and just be yourselves. I will love to meet you all next Saturday night.

      1 · April 25, 2013

This group is super friendly. Everybody gives it their best and the chips fall where they fall. The more you get up and play in front of other people the more comfy you get. Typically the more relaxed you are, the better you play. My first time with this group I don't make it past the second verse of Night They Drove Old Dixie Down before I crashed the song. But it was a good experience and helped me deal with the jitters better.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
