Thank you to everyone who came out last night for the Open Mic "80's Night" in Manhattan-- you were all so amazing :) We have such talented, brave performers... not to mention such an encouraging audience!
In keeping with decade themes, November 8th will be "90's Night". So bring out your scratched Nirvana "Nevermind" CD and your plaid shirt (are they back in style now?) and get ready to to go tubthumping-- er...rocking! Remember, the themes are merely suggestions if you are wondering what to play or want to practice a new song, we welcome any style of music and any level of playing experience. Feel free to play anything your heart desires. Originals are also fantastic if you’ve got 'em! Need some inspiration? Here's a big list of 90's songs in case you're looking for something new.
See you all on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:30pm at Brooklyn Guitar School! (81 4th Ave- Pacific/Atlantic stop) And be sure to join us for drinks afterwards at the Cherry Tree Bar near the school!
Have you been playing guitar alone in your home? Have you been itching to bring your original song or cover to a group of live human beings? Join us Tuesdays at for a great night of open-mic guitar playing, warm and encouraging feedback, and socializing. Practice and polish your original song or cover at home, then perform in a supportive small group. Stay tuned for classes, post-open mic drinks, and other events that we are planning. First time performers are always welcome! We just ask that all performers be at least 18 years old. Details: Tuesdays 7:30-9:30 Cost: Free! How it works: Amy/Martin will introduce you to your fellow performers and then ...grab your guitar and hit the stage! If you have any questions about the group or the open-mic you can contact Amy/Martin by using the link under their picture on the left.
