Lady Got Chops - JACKIE COLEMAN

This will be the first event that we attend as a group for the Lady Got Chops Festival. Please feel free to attend any and all of the other events. I am putting these up one at a time to avoid confusion.

We will meet at Starbucks at Park Avenue and 29th Street at 7:45. Then we will walk one block to the subway and head out together. Those already in Brooklyn are welcome to meet us there.

First event:

JACKIE COLEMAN TRUMPET AND JAZZ FOUNDATION SALUTE TO THE WOMEN MUSICIANS OF THE 2009 INAUGURAL"LIESL WHITAKER" FIRST TRUMPET WITH THE ARMY BLUES BAND featuring Cathy Harley -piano,Maeve Royce-bass and Bomi Choi-Drums

I encourage everyone to try and make it! A lot of effort has gone into this Festival and we should try and get a good group out there. I promise it will be a lot of fun!! And only 10 dollars!

John, not sure what you mean or who thers is but there are 750 member in this group and we will be going to many forms of jazz. Feel free to join us when the event appeals to you.

Beth, I am 99% sure I will make it, and meet you at 7:45. Do they serve food at The Jazz Spot (just in case)? What is your cell number? You can email it to me if you want to.

This was an evening to remember on so many levels:) The music was excellent and the venue was very likable. Thanks to all who came out and I hope to see more of you at the rest of the festival!

Our adventure to far away Brooklyn went very smoothly. Our group was not only lots of fun, and friendly, but also very nice. We had a very comical experience with our waitress, she was unbelievable, LOL! And, the jazz was excellent, the ladies were superb! Thank you Beth for all your effort in putting this together.

What an adventure! It was really quirky and fun, but I'd say that the music took a back seat to some of the other parts of the evening many times. I thought the group was very good, espcially piano, percussion and bass. I think Jackie Coleman's compositions are very good, though I found her voice and style of playing lacked the punch and passion that the other members of the group had in spades.

the music was fantastic and the group was friendly and fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I look forward to another outing and will be making plans to meet up with the people I met for more jazz and just getting to know each other better. Thank you, Beth!
