Announcing a new Meetup for The NYC Jazz Meetup Group!

What: Bill Gerhardt Quntet at Kitano!

When: Thursday, May 13,[masked]:30 PM

66 Park Avenue (Corner of E. 38th Street)
New York, NY 10016

We are going back to Kitano to hear the Bill Gerhardt Quintet. Bill Gerhardt, is a prolific composer and arranger. He teaches privately and in workshop settings or masterclasses. He is a founding member of the Jazz Composers Forum. Bill has traveled the world playing jazz music with the top musicians in the field. He has played most recently with Tim Horner, Francois Moutin, Marc Mommaas, Jed Levy, Jeff Brillinger, Joe Locke and Ingrid Jensen, Jackie Allen and Kendra Shank to name a few . He has two CD's Bill Gerhardt and Cotangent "Stained Glass" and "Thrive" coming out on the Steeplechase Label this year and two CD's "Cotangent" and Tony Moreno and Trio just released on the Art of Life Label.

?Bill is just as incredible as pianist as he is as composer?in the first rank of contemporary artists.?Such beautiful music, the BEST I listened to in a very long time!?

-Jurg Sommer, Switzerland

?The most outstanding thing about Cotangent is the sense of selflessness with which everyone in the group plays. There is one unified goal: to serve the music. An amazing band. This music NEEDS to be heard!?

-Joe Locke, New York City

This amazing show at Kitano has NO COVER! There is a 15 dollar food/drink minimum.

Bill Gerhardt - Piano
Marc Mommaas - Sax
Ron Horton - Trumpet
Mike Holstein - Bass
Tim Horner - Drums
