So I have been doing this for about 4 years and there are certain
guidelines we need to put into place to make this work better.
Please DO NOT say yes unless you are actually coming. Between the
reservations that I make and the expectations that we have it is grueling to
have such a random turnout. I don't care what your other meetups do! From
now on if you say Yes and you don't show up you will be removed from the
group. You have a 24 hour window to change your RSVP to No for events
without a cover charge. If there is a cover charge you have to change it 48
hours before the event takes place. If there are extenuating circumstance
then email me.
There is a 25 dollar a year dues to belong to this group. Come prepared to
pay it at your next event if you have not already done so. You can also pay
with paypal or amazon online. If you do not wish to pay for a full year it is 5
dollars per event. Dues cover meetup fees and expenses. There are about 6-8
events each month and many discounts during the year.
3. Rating the meetups
You are more than welcome to trash the way an event is run or to dislike a
venue. However... I do not want to see any criticism of the music itself.
That is NOT what the ratings are for. If the music we see is not to your
liking then simply quit the group and try something else. In most cases you
can hear a sample of the music on line to determine if it is something you
would like to hear.
If you are interested in being an assistant organizer for this group please
shoot me an email. You must have met me and share my vision for this group.
We are basically trying to support the jazz community.
