As a newbie to Ruby and to Rails this hackfest was a great boost for me. People were friendly and without "attitude". The energy was high. The enthusiasm for using the technology and for startups was real and without hype. Avi was very helpful show others, myself and my friend Kyle some of the basics of ROR. Definitely worth a repeat.

I thought this was a great way to collaborate and meet with other developers across a range of skill levels.

Please do. A project idea can be anything, i.e. implement a feature, leverage a cool gem to perform a task, start a mockup wire frame, or take an initial step for your big project. The key objective of this hackfest is to learn and accomplish something within 4 hours.

Should everyone try to think of a project idea?
