Flatiron School Presents - - An Open Source Issue Aggregator

From: Avi F.
Sent on: Monday, December 10, 2012 11:49 AM

I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:

When: Tuesday, December 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Flatiron School
33 West 26th St, Second Floor
New York, NY

Jenya Zueva and Kevin McNamee will be presenting (currently hosted on ) is an open source issue aggregator. It finds all the open issues from all the open source projects on github and presents them in one place. By adding a voting layer on top of the github data, people can upvote issues instead of just +1 them in Github comments, making it easy to see which issues desperately need solutions. Repository owners can also endorse an issue indicating that if a pull request is submitted, they will merge it. And you can assign a difficulty rating to issues making it easy to find low hanging fruits in the open source world. Finally, you can even pledge a bounty on an issue promising to pay the person who solves this issue, a sort of crowd-funding of open source issues.

They will demo the application and talk about the code and technical challenges they overcame building this application.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
