NYC on Rails Message Board › RubyFocus - A New Newsletter from NYC on Rails
New York, NY
Along with a Flatiron Student, Brad Wheel, I've been working on a new newsletter format for NYC on Rails. tl;dr I want to send out code based tutorials. I find them very effective in teaching. The idea is a lot like RubyKoans, but more bite sized. So with that, I'd love to introduce the first issue of RubyFocus - Variable Scopes.
Hopefully we'll get these newsletters out every other week. If you'd like to contribute, just ping us with a reply. As this is a new project, we'd really love feedback.
To Complete the Exercises
Clone this repository.
git clone https://github.com/Ru...
Open the file in your text editor and replace the "__" in the tests with your answers and when you are done run the exercise files to get your results.
For example, to run 5_glob_var.rb, use the '5_ruby glob_var.rb' command from the command line prompt of the appropriate folder.
Doing the exercises in order will obviously help too :-) Enjoy.
Gust is looking for a CTO! (And they sponsored this newsletter yay!)
