Tailgate at the Cardinal Met games this year at Citi field.

MAY 31 UPDATE   IMPORTANT!  PARKING

Please E-mail me for my cell or any other info. You need. My Phone e-mail is     [masked]

This is a link to parking at the stadium!  In the picture of parking you will see gate 8 and parking area C if you look at the back between gate 8 & 6 that is where we will meet. If you take the train you will see the train steps let you out between lot F & G. from there you walk down the steps & go towards  lot C.

http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/ballpark/transportation/index.jsp?content=driving_parking

Now If anyone is coming by car it gets interesting. The Mets have a funny rule…. they have preferred parking in most of the lots around the stadium including Lot C and gate 8. It is up to the gate keeper to let in general parking people like us or not. It could be by the game & or gate keeper…..yes this is nuts.  So far it is only me in a car so I will get there early & get in. (I hope).

It’s a long story but after I was told this is the spot it has now became a day to day thing with us being allowed to park in there. So I wrote the Mets & said how can anyone plan an event with these rules. I have an e-mail from them last night that said GET THERE EARLY & You should get in. I am printing this & showing it to anyone that might question me or try to stop me.

1)      I will be glad to forward it to you along with my Cell so you can print it & show it to security guards, police or the ticket taker. Just send me a PM & ask for my e-mail & this link.

2)      If you don’t need your car in this lot Park where you want & come on over to lot C.

If you talk to people this should not be a problem!

Again, this is only for anyone with a car…..the rest should have no problem just come on down.

UPDATE ON MAY 12

Sat JUNE 2nd Cards/Mets at Citi Field Game is at 4:10 gates open at 1:10 3 hours before game.  I will be there at 12:30 just to save some spots.

I have a full tailgating grill. Parking is $20.00

Enter Gate 8 as soon as you pay go right to Lot C …….. So again it’s enter gate 8 –pay----go right------ until you get to the fence in lot C.

From the Trains this spot is near the LF fence Entrance...... If you come off the trains you would go down the steps take a left & enter the parking lot in front of you. Just keep walking towards the other end.  Look up at the posts until you see lot C…..then look for the fence. Get there early to get a good parking space.

I have a RED (What other color?) Red Durango with CT plates R/W/B tents and a Grill attached to my bumper.

I have a Grill that can hold around 12 Burgers & 6 to 8 dogs at a time with a fast turnover rate. I have tables some folding chairs & a tent. I will bring a cooler and some other things. Depending on how many are going we may need another grill & coolers. How do you all want to do the food & drinks? I can bring extra Ketchup, mustard, plates, cups Napkins. Let’s try to make this work if you all want.

Rules at Citi field

Tailgating will be permitted only under the following conditions:

• No open flames of any type.  NO CHARCOAL GRILLS just gas

• Only one parking stall may be used.

• Consumption of alcohol is prohibited. People put beer in cups

It is illegal to consume alcoholic beverages on the sidewalks or in the parking lots. Anyone doing so will be subject to arrest.

• Inappropriate or dangerous behavior will not be allowed.

• For security reasons no trash bins are located in Citi Field parking lots. Guests should bag trash for pick up.

There are bars at the stadium that you can go into.....but my feeling is you do that all winter in the city so let’s try outside. We can all pick a better spot for next year at that time.

IF IT RAINS HARD THERE IS A BAR/Restaurant ON THE OTHERSIDE OF THE STADIUM! I tailgate football all the time so a little rain does not bother me.

Awesome meetup! Thanks Butterscotch Golden for putting it together. I'll see everyone at Foley's soon...and maybe see a winner, if not a run!

Question ... If any of us brings chairs, what will we do with them during the game?

"Butterscotch," could you send an email the night before the meetup with definitive info on where we're meeting, what you want us to bring, and your name and number in case we can't find you? It would probably be a good idea to upload a pic so we know who we're looking for, too.

I'm pretty sure you can just walk into the parking area. I remember walking through it after a Cards/Mets game a couple years ago.

I've never attended a meetup with this group and the info is all over the place regarding the day's tailgate. Could the organizers please update the header with more concise info? I'm looking forward to meeting some fellow Cards fans, just don't want to have any issues the day of!

Tailgating without beer ... Doesn't sound like my idea of a fun time at all. Count me out.

We have a group of 4 that definitely wants to meet for tailgating, can anyone provide details on where and what time? Do we need a parking pass? Can anyone supply a grill? Go Cards!

Hey all! As a new transplant, I don't have anyone to go to the game with, so just want to confirm where you all are sitting before I buy tickets. Is section 520 a legitimate plan? Thanks!

Cool. On StubHub, if they're selling 2, can you buy just 1, or do you have to buy the pair? Never used the site before.

    April 9, 2012

  • Julia

Seems to be quite a few pairs in Section 520 on stubhub for $28 or so...

The people on FB are planning to sit in section 520. According to the Mets ticketing site, that's Promenade Reserved and will be $40 on that particular game. Yeah, the tailgating part still sounds like a great idea. Maybe I'll do that and then sit in the cheaper ($28) Promenade Outfield seats. $12 isn't a huge savings though.

Looks like our section will be $40 if I'm reading the chart correctly.

I don't think I can tailgate, but I do know a ton of Cards fans will be attending the game. We'll be sitting in section 520 (see this link for more info!) https://www.facebook.com/events/254207767997576/

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
