The agenda for this meetup will be:
- a presentation about usability design
- a website design review/critique of RubyMail
- open networking and socializing


** Usability. Design for it.(tm)

Creating highly usable web-based applications doesn't happen by accident. This month's NYC Design Meetup will host a presentation on designing and testing for usability in websites and applications. The presentation will include topics such as:
- What does usability really mean?
- When does usability matter?
- What is the role of visual design in ensuring usability?
- Is usability the same as accessibility?
- How to test for usability -- Focus Groups and beyond

The presenter, Paula Majerowicz, is the founder and CEO of eCoreXperience, Inc., a User Experience and Interaction Design firm based in New York. Paula, formerly with IBM Global Services, has been involved in application design and development for over 15 years, with a focus on usability in design.


** Design review/critique: RubyMail(tm)

Jaron Rubenstein will lead a design review/critique of RubensteinTech's RubyMail Web application (www.rubymail.com). RubyMail is a full-service email marketing service provider that provides a complete turn-key solution for graphic designers. RubensteinTech launched RubyMail about a year ago, and is currently in the midst of a redesign of the website and the user interface for the underlying Web application.


While the agenda for our June meeting is currently full, we're always looking for presenters and design reviews for future Meetups. Please get in touch if you'd like to present on a topic of interest, or if you have a website you've recently completed that you'd like to put up for design review/critique by the group!

    This is probably the first meetup meeting about Internet/Design/IA, etc. where I have actually learned something and had the pleasure to meet friendly and interesting people willing to share and learn. The venue helps a lot.
