Animal Activist & Social Events (The Humane League NYC) is here to provide you with upcoming social and volunteer opportunities hosted by The Humane League and other groups in New York City.
The Humane League is a farm animal protection nonprofit. We work to inspire change for animals at all levels through both our grassroots outreach initiatives and our wildly successful corporate campaigns. We now have a grassroots office here in NYC, so you can expect events from us often!
There are so many ways to advocate for animals, no matter your skill set! Possible volunteer opportunities include: leafleting, tabling, protesting, assisting with humane education presentations in classrooms, and more. Possible social opportunities include: Vegan Drinks, bar crawls, group runs, etc.

Digital actions are one of the easiest and effective forms of activism to improve the lives of animals in the food system. We understand that in our busy lives we might forget to keep up with the actions, and assume we're "just one person." But only as a collective do we have the power to end corporate greed. So, we would like to create a space where we all dedicate 20-30 minutes a week taking these essential actions, calling out companies for their lack of transparency and basic animal welfare.
The sessions will be lead by a Captain or Volunteer Changemaker.This is also a great opportunity for up and coming Changemakers to explore a leadership role, and learn about the different ways they can influence our campaigns while socializing. Passionate Changemakers who join to take action also have a chance to win fun prizes.
Join us and hold companies accountable for their inaction and hold them to their promises. Together we can end cages!

Join us at the iconic Museum of the Moving Image, the only Museum in North America dedicated to the Art, History, and Technology of Film, Television, and Digital Media for NYC's premiere screening of The Humane League's documentary, Common Enemy.

The film examines individuals affected by corporate animal agriculture. We learn about the mental and physical toll taken on workers on a pig farm in rural Oklahoma, about the Cherokee activist Pam Kingfisher, and her fight to take back tribal lands, and we spend time with a few dedicated folks who are rehabilitating animals abused on these mega-farms. The film is 30 minutes, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with the video producer, José Elias, writer and editor, Angel Lugo, and senior organizer at The Humane League, Alex Wolfe.
