Hey Gex,

You got me with the way you describe the days of hard dancing to amazing beats! I too am a crazy fan of the dnb movement and have been agonizing over how the city has been transformed from a dancing culture to a lounging one...but your message and the mixes you attached re-energized me and I would be happy to help you get the word out....

Hi all.

I know i havent done a great job of runnin this meetup. I've recently started working at an electronic music label and I'm having a lot of fun working my dream job. I started this meetup because I saw there were other folks just finding jungle for the first time or old timers like myself that we're looking to find that feeling again.

I remember learning what a "rinse-out" was and defining it for myself as not just the tunes playing out but the entire sweaty vibe of dancing a night away. I never gravitated toward house or trance because in my teenage angst, it seemed like that those rooms were full of cheezy people and the Jungle room was were the outcasts hung out. Now, 15 years forward I run parties of my own that would rival the funnest night u've been to in NYC in say the last 3 years. We bring concert size bass bins and throw them in weird warehouses hidden to the unsuspecting eye. We've brought back the feeling and the dancing and the sweat. The music has moved on to new mutations but it's every bit as bass-heavy and way more fun now. If anyone here would like to moderate this group with me or on their own i welcome ur ideas and connections to help out. We need to get the calander going... I know all the events im just not the most tech savvy person. Below i leave u my mixtape recorded live on WFMU in april. enjoy the vibes and pls try and rsvp just to say yay or nay... I'd like to see who's even reading this thing.... gex
