Bethany's Story-Wonderful New Vegan Documentary w/Talk By Producer Janet McKee

***Light All-Vegan Refreshments Will Be Provided***

Dear Friends,

I want to share with you an extremely moving and immensely educational documentary film that had its New York debut at the recent New York City Vegetarian Food Festival. It is a brand new film, and this will be its second showing ever in New York.

The brilliant and extremely lovely executive producer of the film, Janet McKee will be at the film to give a talk and answer your questions. I couldn't ask for a more ideal event for our group, and I am thrilled and grateful that Janet will be here to personally introduce and give a talk on her beautiful and very informative new documentary that she has put together over the last four years. Additionally, this full-length feature film features some of the most eminent and knowledgeable vegan MDs in the world today, including Neil Barnard, Brian Clement, Gabriel Cousens and Michael Greger.

About "BETHANY’S STORY: The Power From Within"

This is a compelling documentary about a 13-year-old girl who had become paralyzed by a bad reaction to medication and after seeing many doctors and specialists for 3.5 years was told she would never walk again. One day she discovered the raw vegan diet and after adopting this into her life, she immediately got movement in her feet and after a few short months completely recovered from her paralysis and got out of her wheelchair.

The film chronicles the girl’s illness from its onset to her recovery and includes powerful interviews with prominent doctors and nutrition experts including: Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. Brian Clement, Dr. Gabriel Cousens, Dr. Michael Greger, Brenda Davis R.D. and Dr. Lewis Mel-Madrona.

Janet has been traveling and speaking nationwide and the response to her new film has been thunderous. We are thrilled to be co-sponsoring this Film and Talk event with one of New York's leading college animal rights groups, Hunter College PAL - Paths to Animal Liberation. A huge thank you to Hunter College PAL President Juandiego Nivelo for his leadership in co-sponsoring this event with us and helping bring this film to New York.

This screening is taking place in Hunter College's main building, Hunter West, on the southwest corner of East 68th Street & Lexington Ave. You must bring a photo ID: a Driver's License or Non-Drivers ID is best. The room is HW415 (Hunter West 415, a large screening room). Optionally, you can meet with our meetup group at 6:45pm in front of the building, and we can all walk into Hunter West together. Details will be added to this page before the event.

For me, this is our most exciting event all year. I encourage you to join us -- don't miss this beautiful evening with film and filmmaker!

There is a $5 cash ticket price, payable at the door.

Huge thanks to Demetrius for his support of this event!!

good movie. Ejoyed the company and hearing from Janet McKee. It's hard to cover new ground on this subject, but this movie does a credible job of it.

Important: From David Greene, the organizer of this event:

Update - Optional Meeting Place: Those who would like to meet with the group before the film, before we all walk in to the West Building together, may meet us on the Southwest corner of 68th Street and Lexington Ave. between 6:30pm and 6:45pm. We will be standing right near the street corner itself, near the street, and NOT directly in front of the building. I will be holding a "MEETUP" sign. If you are unsure which corner the southwest corner is, you can just look across the street and you will see a large group standing on one of the four street corners. That will be us. At 6:45pm sharp we will be going into the Hunter West building. After 6:45pm, you can just enter the building by yourself and meet us in Room HW415. Be sure to bring Photo ID with you, preferably a Driver's License or Non-Driver ID.
