The Irish music community in New York is pulling together to help the storm-ravaged communities of the city like Breezy Point, The Rockaways and Staten Island to recover so please join us on this night for a very special concert to benefit the relief efforts.
You'll recall I posted a save-the-date a few weeks ago for the first-ever double-bill featuring Jameson's Revenge and The Mickey Finns, arguably the two best Irish bands to come out of New York in recent years. The bands have sacrificed what would have been a nice payday for themselves to expand this show into a benefit concert for these still largely Irish neighborhoods of New York that were devastated by the recent storm.
In addition to the dual headliners, the concert now will feature Girsa, The Lost Tribe of Donegal, Broken Banjo Strings, Celtic Cross and more. Doors open at 5 p.m. and there is a suggested donation of $20 at the door.
Pre-meetup in the bar area on the east side of O'Lunney's (closest to Connolly's and 6th Avenue), starting about 4 p.m. This will be a joint meetup with the Irish in New York group.
Plan to join us for this at some point during the evening, it will be a wonderful night of music, almost like a mini festival, for a good local cause.
