Our goal is to gather together to support, promote, play and enjoy Irish and other forms of Celtic music in the greater New York City area. We welcome musicians who wish to play this music or learn how to play it as well as fans who wish to see live shows by artists in this genre. New York City has a rich Celtic music scene and we meet several times a month to see live bands play, including local, national and international acts. We also meet regularly for open traditional Irish seisiuns, including the Tuesday night seisiun at Dempsey's, the longest-running open seisiun in New York, providing an opportunity for musicians in our group to become more active in the seisiuns. Whether you're interested in Irish traditional music, sean nos songs, classic Irish or Scottish folk, Celtic rock and punk or any other form of Celtic music, whether you like to play the music or just like to watch and listen, you should join this active, friendly and fun group. We welcome assistant organizers to help us hold even more events.
