New Yorkers and the World to Join Hands in Largest Gathering Against Offshore Oil Drilling in History.

Our message is to say YES to clean energy and NO to offshore oil drilling.

WHO: New Yorkers from all walks of life and across all political affiliations are invited to
join thousands of people across the world showing support for clean energy.

WHEN: Saturday, June 26, 2010 Meet at 11AM at the beach, rain or shine, at 12PM form lines in the sand against oil drilling in our coastal waters and join hands for 15 minutes. Leave only your footprints behind.

WHERE: Coney Island beach, near the NY Aquarium (602 Surf Avenue & West 8th Street, Brooklyn)

WHY: Hands Across The Sand's mission is to steer America's energy policy away from its dependence on fossil fuels and into the light of clean energy. The aim is to convince our leaders to abandon expanded offshore oil drilling and adopt policies that encourage clean and renewable energy sources. We are joining hands to say YES to clean energy and NO to offshore oil drilling.
