Deadline to mail in your ballot – December 31
Please forward this message to anyone you think might be a Sierra Club member
There is no physical meeting associated with this event, aside from the nearest mailbox. If you need to request a replacement ballot, please give yourself enough time to receive and return it.
Sierra Club’s NYC Group is run by the 9 members of its Executive Committee. 5 of those members will be chosen in this month’s election. Of over 10,000 Sierra Club members in NYC, only about 200 of them vote - so if you’re a member, your vote can be incredibly important!
Sane Energy Project endorses the following candidates: Carl Arnold, Gusti Bogok, Clare Donahue, Alan Gerson, and Gary Nickerson. These candidates will help revitalize SC NYC and make it a stronger, more effective ally in the fight against fracking and pipelines. If you’re a Sierra Club member, please vote for all 5 candidates and mail in your ballot by December 31. Contact [masked] for more information.
If your ballot is lost or damaged contact Lucy Koteen at [masked] or call[masked] and ask for a replacement ballot.
From Sane Energy Project’s newsletter:
“…If you are a member of Sierra Club, you can increase your impact on Spectra by voting in the current election: Sierra Club's NYC group has five seats open on the 9-person executive committee (ex-comm). But out of 10,000 members, only a few hundred vote, so every vote counts heavily. If you are a Sierra Club member, for the good of the fight against Spectra, we urge you to cast your vote. The deadline is the end of the year, so don't delay. Email us if you want more info about the candidates that Sane Energy Project endorses: [masked]...”
