Get involved in clean up projects, climate change education programs....let me know what is going on and Ill get involved.
Climate Change, recycling (and the lack of) and deforestation.
The lack of education on climate change is concerning . So many people around me don't understanding how their actions can have huge implications on the environment. Local governments need to take responsibility and educate people on the changes that they need to make to help reduce the effects on our environment. Small changes like taxes on plastic bags, increased recycling facilities and education programs can make changes and shift attitude. I have seen first hand how these changes can impact a society. Ireland is one of the first countries to introduce a plastic bag tax levy. They have increased recycling facilities and most schools participate in an environmental program. 12 years since the introduction of taxes on plastic bags, they are no longer acceptable and people reach out for reusable bags! Since moving to the US I have been shocked at how plastic bags are given to everyone in every store and quite often products are double bagged! Something needs to change!
