Tuesday, November 20 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm Green Renter: Sailing on Top of the World - A Writer's Dispatches from the Frontlines of Climate Change
Speaker: Ben Jervey, author of The Big Green Apple
Ben Jervey - writer, activist and dear friend of Solar One recently returned from a 17- day sailing voyage around the arctic waters just north of Greenland. Joined by a crew of artists, climate scientists and educators and of course sailors! - the Cape Farewell project afforded Ben an incredible and, at times, harrowing opportunity to witness the dramatic and rapid effects of climate change first-hand.
Join Ben as he reflects on his experiences and encounters at sea, and shares what he learned from fellow crew members about the current state of melting and change in this critical region. Pictures and videos will be included in presentation.
