Join NYC Eco-Eligibles for:

A special screening of Plagues & Pleasures on the Salton Sea followed by a Q&A with director Chris Metzler.

The movie starts at 7:30pm, but lets meet at 7:15pm right inside the venue but outside where the movie is
going to be shown.

The Film:
This film is a documentary about an area that was once know as
"California's Riviera", the Salton Sea. The Salton Sea is now
America's worst ecological disaster, this man-made
environmental problem threatens the over 400 different species
documented to have lived there. Yet a few hardy eccentrics hang
on to hope, including a roadside nudist and a man building a
religious mountain out of mud and paint. Hair-raising and
hilarious, this is the American Dream stinky as a dead carp.

Directed by Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer, narrated by John Waters

Screening sponsored by Screening Liberally:
Join us as Screening Liberally brings advance screenings of
socially conscious films and filmmakers, directors and industry
insiders to lead post-screening discussions. We are not only
creating a buzz about a film but about the issues. Now when the
lights go up, the movie-going experience continues. Bring your
ideas, opinions and viewpoints. Let's talk.
