Meeting Description: I came across a write-up in New York Magazine for this exhibit and I thought it looked like it would be a fun event.


Voices of Dissent: Social, Political and Environmental Statements

Painting and sculpture from the Collection focusing on language as a decisive element, alluding to issues questioning notions of power, identity, race, gender and sexuality.

Ricci Albenda, Nancy Dwyer, Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, Neil Jenney, Barbara Kruger, Annette Lemieux, Glenn Ligon, Bruce Mellett, Richard Prince, Ed Ruscha, David Wojnarowicz, and Christopher Wool

This exhibit is free

Directions to Queens From Manhattan via N or W Train / Astoria line:
Take N or W train to the 39th Avenue (Beebe) stop. After going through the turnstiles take the right hand staircase. At the corner of 31st Street and 39th Avenue turn right and walk one block west on 39th Avenue, then turn right onto 30th Street. Note occasionally the N train does not run on weekends, if so take the W train.
