NY Product Stewardship: Present & Future
Please join us for our first program of the new meeting season and hear about the status of product stewardship in New York City and New York State, now and in the months and years ahead.
Over the past few years a variety of product stewardship laws have been passed in the City and the State, including take-back laws for cell phones, electronics, plastic bags, and rechargeable batteries.
Our panel includes
Todd Ellis from the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation;
David Hirschler from the NYC Department of Sanitation; and
Kate Sinding from the Natural Resources Defense Council and representing the new NY Product Stewardship Council.
They will discuss the variety of product stewardship laws and volunteer programs available in New York, challenges in the implementation of the various programs, and the future of product stewardship as the NY-PSC develops and matures.
Coffee will be provided; bring your own mug.
PLEASE NOTE MEETING LOCATION, DAY AND DATE.

Please be courteous when you RSVP for an event. When you sign up for Yes, especially in space limited events, and then are no longer able to attend you need to change your RSVP to No to allow others to attend. If you are a No-Show we will be keeping track and after three No-Shows (three times you RSVP yes and then do not attend a Meetup) you will no longer be able to RSVP Yes to attend limited space events until you have three perfect attendances.
