Green economy

Hello all,
I am new to this group and I would like to tap into your collective wisdom on the concept of green economy - in the context of development. Nobody can deny that it would be great to have growth that does not hurt the environment. But is it feasible on a large enough scale?

Is it possible to feed the world's poor and deprived and provide them with a minimum standard of living without jeopardizing the environment?

If yes,

What kind of changes are needed?

Would these be politically feasible?

What kind of governance do we need?

If no,

What are our other options?

I would love to hear from people who have an opinion on this. (Organizers, is it ok to have this discussion on this board?)

In particular, it would be great to hear from people who have some understanding of/ experience with/ training in the politics of policymaking.

Here are a few links to get you started.
